Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Wednesday night that immigrants would be brought by bus from Lone Star State to Chicago. in in latest iteration of his controversial bus program.

He has already sent migrants to Chicago, Washington DC, and New York.
“To continue to provide much needed assistance to our small border towns, Chicago will join sanctuary cities Washington, D.C. and New York as additional drop-off locationAbbott said.
“Mayor Lightfoot likes to advertise responsibility of her city greet everyone regardless of legal status and I look forward see this responsibility in actions as these migrants receive resources from the shelter city with ability to serve them.
In April, Abbott began taking immigrants by bus from the border to Washington, DC. Immigrants began to arrive. in New York in June.

Abbot’s bus program which uses as a taxpayer money as well as private donations up a price label of $12 million, or about $1,300 per immigrant busted to the East Coast.
Immigrants who are part of of Abbott program are not illegal immigrants. They cleared first step of asylum seekers and legally authorized remain in country while federal government decides if they qualify for shelter or not.
