Detroit Police arrest suspected shooter in ‘random’shooting

DETROIT (AP) – four people were shot, three fatally, by a man who it turned out firing in people randomly over approximately 2 1/2 hours Sunday morning in Detroit, police say.

Police arrested an unidentified suspect on Sunday evening after hours of hunting. with help from the FBI of Homeland Security and Bureau of Alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives.

Detroit Police Chief James White said clues led officers to the suspect, but said nothing more. information.

“Thanks hard working men as well as women of DPD who put themselves in harm way everyday. Also big thanks to our law enforcement partners,” the agency said in a statement. on his Facebook page on Sunday evening.

White said police have followed up on all four shootings. one firearms and believe there is one shooter. He said investigators did not believe there was any connection between the victims, noting one man walked along dog and another wait for bus when they were shot.

He said the police found the woman in she is 40 who was shot several times around 4:45 on Sunday. While the staff was investigating it fatal shooting, witness reported 28-year- the old man was shot several times times nearby, White said.

Third victim, woman in she was 40 years old found in in area around 6:50 am. She died after several shots times- said the police.

Around 7:10 am, an elderly man reported seeing a man peering into vehicles. When the elderly man told the man to get away from the cars, the armed man shot the elderly man, who was shot once and survived- said the police.
