ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday upheld the District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Supplemental Order over PTI leader Dr. Shahbaz Gill is in police custody in Islamabad.
During Tuesday’s hearing, IHC Acting Chief Justice Aamer Farouk noted that the evidence presented to the ADSJ led to the conclusion that another two-day detention period was required. The court subsequently ruled that “there was no interference. required in order of revised court [ADSJ]”.
Meanwhile, Mr. Gill accused the police of physically and mentally torturing him and organizing a “fake medical examination” when “his body was full of bruises.” Separately, he also claimed that he was undressed and ‘thrown’to the room where he was beaten and kicked for three nights after arrest on August 9th.
He made these accusations in front of a committee formed by Islamabad Police Chief at the direction of the IHC to investigate his allegations of torture during detention. He claimed that no doctor in Pims had examined him.
Islamabad IG and Operations DIG did not respond to inquiries. for comment.
Meanwhile, another case has been reported against Mr. Gill at Secretariat Police Station after two guns were found in his room. in parliamentary lodges.
