Medicines worth 15 million rupees, other goods are sent to flood-hit districts: Patel

ISLAMABAD: Minister for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Abdul Kadir Patel on On Tuesday said that the necessary medicines, worth over 15 million rupees and other benefits items including 0.6 million treated mosquitoes nets were sent to flood hit areas of Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab within next several days.

talking to media persons, he said that his ministry was making excessive efforts to help flood hit people in grief.

Providing details of relief work he said: “12 members team of doctors already was sent in the worst hit Lasbelsky district. About 30,000 vaccines truck carrying medicines worth 100,000 rupees is already was sent to flood hit areas.

Contingent of 200,000 vaccines were also sent to affected areas. Ministry has already sent 36,000 mosquito repellents nets. More than 1.4 million more medicinal mosquito nets would soon be sent to flood hit areas”.

He said the anti-venom serum was ready. for immediate delivery to any flooded areas that may be in need. He said the donor conference also was arranged on Wednesday for help flood hit people how government not enough resources to recover destroyed infrastructure. He said the Lasbel area was one of the worst hit areas, since its infrastructure was completely destroyed.

He said the federal government will serve flood hit people without any discrimination. He also said that the Punjab was looking for help for in flood hit people of Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan and federal government would answer soon. He also added that he will visit Thatta this week for distribution of aid items among flood hit people.

He said that the Ministry of Health has appointed two coordinators to communicate and promptly inform about needs. of flood hit people of Balochistan and Sindh.
