Two planes narrowly escape accident at Jinnah International Airport

KARACHI: Two planes narrowly escaped a crash at Karachi Jinnah International Airport.

An investigation has been launched into the incident, whether the situation occurred due to negligence of air motion control or malfunction of pilot.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan, the flight of a private the airline was scheduled to fly from Karachi to Islamabad at 13:00. on Saturday.

Airbus A-320 took off from runway 7R at 1:15 am, while another airline from Peshawar one kilometer from the same runway where he was supposed to land.

According to aviation sources, one of planes took off from the same runway while another was about to land.

The air traffic control service asked the pilot flying from Peshawar to “go on a second circle”, but the pilot allegedly ignored the instruction, the sources said.

They are added that a high-level investigation has been launched at Karachi Airport in in this respect.
