At the same time, several parts of North Island saw record temperature for August including Auckland Airport at 21C and Gisborne at 22.6C.

It was previously reported that watch warnings and alerts were lifted after the rain eased. in northern and central regions.
But there were about 100 new Night evacuation, according to the New Zealand Herald.
