Election Committee of Pakistan on Notices were sent on Friday to PTI Chairman Imran Khan and others senior party leaders Fawad Chaudhry and Asad Umar for using “intemperate and contemptuous remarks” against election monitor in recent performances.
ECP sent two notices to Imran and one every Chaudhry and Umar and ordered them to come in face or through counsel before the commission office in Islamabad on Aug 30
The watchdog blamed Imran of making unfounded accusations against KEK and its leader in his addresses on 18, 21, 27 July and 4 and 10 August.

Imran and his supporters were vocal in their disapproval. of EKP and its boss.
The head of the PTI has repeatedly demanded the resignation of Chief Electoral Commissioner Sikander Sultan Raja, arguing that his party won polls in Punjab despite “biased ECP” and use of state machine in Favor PML-N.
He had also claimed that the CEC tried him best flip the polls in service of PML-N.
“I am disappointed in chief electoral commissioner. How could he let all this happen? He is incompetent in run [the Election Commission of Pakistan] and politically inclined. party. Rajah should resign immediately,” he said. in victory speech after party won by-elections in Punjab.
In response to his claims, the ECP notice states: “You [Imran] deliberately and deliberately scandalized, ridiculed and slandered this commission and members of commission in to cause hatred for the commission and its members in eyes of general public which is otherwise an attempt at prejudice.”

ESP found derogatory remarks and in contempt under “Section 10 of Election Law 2017 read with relevant provisions of Contempt of Court Order, 2003.”
Commission also scolded the leaders for incitement public against head of EKP for using derogatory language which was “an attempt to damage the process of upcoming elections, which are clear contempt of commission”.
