Imran submits documents in all 9 NA constituencies

ISLAMABAD:

PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday rolled up his sleeves to up ante against Decree coalition led by PML-N of all nine general places of National Assembly, by presenting its nomination papers as the sole player as a deadline for the process has ended.

Nomination papers have been submitted in all nine constituencies vacated after the NA Speaker accepted his resignation of 11, including two seats reserved for women, out of 131 PTI deputies.

The process will now be accompanied by agitation, with Imran tours constituencies to tickle voters out of them homes on September 25th.

On the reserved seat for women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Shandana Gulzar, Rohila Hameed and Mehwish Ali Khan were nominated.

It is pertinent to note that Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, candidate of the Awami National Party (ANP) for NA-31 Peshawar who has three additional poll wins in the same constituency under his leadership belt once again coming face to face on September 25 with Imran to whom he lost in 2013 general elections.

From NA-108 Faisalabad, the head of PTI would have taken on PML-N leader Abid Sher Ali. According to the ESP, total of 18 candidates presented their candidacies for additional polls in constituency.

AT former premier earlier announced that he will fight in all districts, raising the stakes of otherwise considered boring side polls and presented the competition as Imran Khan vs. coalition government.

AT move simultaneous participation in all nine districts is unprecedented in political history.

According to schedule issued by the electoral commission of Pakistan, elections in these nine constituencies will be held on September 25th. A few hours after the ECP announced elections on vacancies, PTI had announced that Imran will participate in the by-elections on nine vacancies.

In 2018 PTI Chairman made history after he emerged victorious on five seats in the National Assembly. Imran defeated political heavyweights including PML-N’s Saad Rafik. in Lahore (NA-131) and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in Islamabad (NA-53). He had also won in Bannu (NA-35), NA-243 in Karachi and its home constituency in Mianwali (NA-95).

ECP previously accepted 11 out of 131 resignations submitted by PTI MNA since removal of in party chief from office of in prime minister back in April of this year.

According to the EPC schedule, candidates can submit their nomination papers from August 10 to 13, which will be verified by August 17, while candidates will be issued electoral symbols on August 29th.

On July 28, NA Speaker Raja Perwaiz Ashraf accepted his resignation. of 11 PTI members exactly 109 days after they resigned from their seats.

NA Speaker accepts resignation of several key PTI leaders, including former human rights minister Shirin Mazari, former internal affairs officer minister Ijaz Ahmed Shah, ex-state minister for parliamentary affairs Ali Muhammad Khan and the ex-state minister for information and broadcasting Farrukh Khabib in accordance with Article 64(1) of Constitution.

Other PTI legislators whose resignations have been accepted are Fazal Muhammad Khan, Shaukat Ali, Fakhar Zaman Khan, Jamil Ahmed Khan, Muhammad Akram Cheema, Abdul Shakur Shad and Shandana Gulzar Khan. Mazar and Shandana were elected on reserved seats for women from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa respectively.
