Trump investigation live updates: Pelosi criticizes the Republican Party for rhetoric after the raid

Republican members of The House Intelligence Committee defended former President Donald Trump attacking integrity of department of Justice and the FBI during a press conference on Capitol Hill, Friday.

“President Donald Trump is the most likely political leader for Joe Biden. opponent in 2024, which is less than 100 days before critical midterm elections,” said Rep. Alice Stefanik, Republican No. 3 in the House of Representatives. “FBI raid of President Trump is complete abuse and abuse of his authority.”

Intelligence Rating Committee member Michael Turner, of Ohio, told reporters that the Republicans on committee “pleased” to the Department of Justice started the process of releasing “some” of in information about the raid on the publicly called for more. Trump received a subpoena in Spring for documents that he did not return to the National Archives, according to ABC News. It is unclear to what extent, if at all, he complied. The Justice Department has not publicly confirmed the existence of subpoena.

Stefanik vowed to hold a “full investigation” if the Republicans return the hammer in November.

“Republicans in the House of Representatives are committed to immediate oversight, accountability and a full investigation to ensure the necessary transparency and responses to US people”, Stefanik said.

AT group also emphasized that they in “full support” of those who service in FBI and law enforcement and condemned any violence against agents while also repeatedly questioning the credibility of law enforcement agencies.
