More than 1,000 policemen will guard the Medjalis and processions in Attock – Newspaper

TAXILA: more than 1000 policemen personnel will guard 73 Majalis and six funeral processions to be taken out on Muharram 8 from different parts of Attock on Sunday (today)

Conversation with journalists on On Saturday, Acting District Police Officer (DPO) Imran Razzak said five DSPs, 10 SHOs, 180 sub-inspectors/ASIs, 119 head constables, 1100 constables, 20 female constables and Elite Force personnel will be deployed on happening.

According to him, in addition to the police, 487 volunteers from various organizations will guard religious gatherings, adding that the process of consultation with members of Peace committee and organizers of processions and medjalis at the level of districts, tehsils and police stations were completed.

In response to a question, he said that during Muharram, 754 majalis were organized in the district. in of which there were 66 in Attock, 70 in Hassanabdal, 173 years old in Fatejang, 325 in Pindigeb and 120 in Jand, while 145 processions will be held in Zuljinn. out including 29 licensed and 116 traditional.

He said that 28 marches were declared secret and placed in category A, adding that control rooms are being set up at the tehsil and district levels to monitor the situation and deal with any adverse incidents.

The policeman said that all marches would pass along the routes assigned to them, and no violation of the route will be allowed, adding that closed circuit cameras have been installed to monitor the Majalis and the processions.

The DPO said the Army, the Bomb Disposal Ranger Squad personnel would remain on in reserve help district administration and the police to solve with any of emergency.

Residents will not be allowed in during Ashura processions on roofs, balconies, squares and houses, official said adding that participants of the funeral procession was pass through walk-through the gate until all the streets along the routes of processions will be sealed with barbed wire.
