ISLAMABAD: Electoral Commission of Pakistan (ECP) received a recommendation from the Speaker of the National Assembly, Raja Perwaiz Ashraf. for disqualification of PTI Chairman Imran Khan for concealment of toshakhana gifts.
The speaker sent an appeal to the ESR in a day back and stated that former prime minister did not disclose gifts taken from Toshakhana.
“Imran Khan did not mention amount received by him after the sale of Toshakhana gifts in his tax returns,” the statement said, demanding that the ECP disqualify Imran Khan under Article 62(1)(f) of Constitution.
According to sources, the speaker sought an immediate hearing.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif recently accused the PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan of sale gifts received during foreign visits.
