Mifta announces tax breaks for shops consumption below 150 units

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Miftah Ismail on Sunday announced relief in tax for shopkeepers who consume less than 150 units. of electricity per month, according to ARY News.

Speaking at a press conference, Ismail said that government looking for an annual tax of 36,000 rupees from small shopkeepers and stressed that everyone would have to pay taxes.

“Industry as well as bankers also have to pay taxes,” he said.

Finance Minister says another tax will come into effect force from next year. “A 10% tax will be introduced on companies that failed to export 10 percent of their products,” he said.

Finance minister also said the rupee, which depreciates rapidly against United States dollar in the last weeks, I’ll see improvement in in next two or three weeks.

He stated that this month and the previous month government had to make payments worth billions who had caused the local currency will come under pressure.
