Hours after the Supreme Court hit down Decree of the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, President Dr. Arif Alvi sworn in of chief of Punjab minister Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Chaudhry Pervez Elahi at the President’s House in tiny hours of Wednesday.
Earlier it was decided to take the oath.in The ceremony was held at the Governor’s House, but to the dismay of the Governor of Punjab, the ceremony was moved to the President’s House in Islamabad after he refused to take the oath.
Elahi arrived in Islamabad at one in the morning. on Wednesday morning to take the oath of office via a special departure from Lahore. Elahi was elected as executive director of provinces for in second time. He used to be elected as chief of the Punjab minister in 2002. He has also worked as a deputy prime minister in 2011.
