LAHORE: Commenting on his last- minute “unexpected” move who paved way for Hamza Shahbaz of PML-N to retain position of CM Punjab and shocked PTI, including his cousin and candidate for prize slot Pervez Elahi, PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain asked how he could back critics of institutions of the country.
Keeping to his previous position, Shujaat Hussain said: “I have relatives with institutions for in last 30-40 years.
However, he clarified that Pervez Elahi “was, is and will remain his candidate for chief of Punjab minister slot.
Offensive language against institutions annoying shujaat
PML-Q leader said there is stability in Pakistan until institutions are in place, adding that criticizing is another matter, but using offensive language against institutions cannot be tolerated because institutions consider honesty of their country duty.
PML-Q President went on say you’re ashamed language against institutions cannot be tolerated and the patriotic Pakistani will react immediately if he hears this.
“Shujaat wrote a letter under pressure”: Munis Elahi
On the other hand, Shujaat’s nephew and PML-Q leader Munis Elahi claimed that C. Shujaat Hussain wrote a letter to Punjab Assembly Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari under duress.
“I think there was pressure on Chaudhry Shujaat,” he told a local media reported.
He said it was suggested in a letter that PML-Q deputies will not vote for Pervez Elahi as he was a candidate of PTI.
Munis Elahi claimed that Chaudhry Shujaat asked PML-Q members not to vote for anyone. Muniz quoted Chaudhary Shujaat’s letter saying that Pervez Elahi should become the leader minister but not as a candidate of Imran Khan.
