Punjab government on Saturday said it’s restricting work hours of markets, shopping malls, wedding halls and restaurants as part of of energy saving drive.
decision was taken after Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz consulted with the provincial business community.
BUT post- Handout from the Directorate of The public relations general said that from here on markets, markets and business centers will be closed by 9pm; restaurants by 23:30 and wedding halls by 22:00.
Restrictions will not affect medical stores as long as there is relaxation for in business community on on Saturdays.
CM Hamza Shehbaz said that policy on timings for Eidul Azha purchases will be considered together with in business community.
The memo said that business communityrepresentatives in the meeting fully supported and commended the government’s measures to cope with energy crisis.
Punjab governments decision comes the day after Sindh government introduced similar measures.
The notice issued by Sindh Interior Minister Dr. Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo stated that the measures were required due to widespread power outages and load dumps, so the deficit between demand and delivery of electricity can be reduced.
He noted that the federal cabinet had decided on On June 7, take effective measures to reduce load shedding by saving energy and avoiding and minimizing impacts of expected energy deficit in country through national strategy.
Therefore, the notice said, “it is necessary and expedient to put in place certain restrictions.” in to control the growing gap between energy production and use so that this widespread emergency of energy deficit can be controlled, which otherwise could term and multisectoral impact on life of in general public of province of Sindh.
There were reports of hours-long unloading across the country, leaving people suffer in high temperatures.
