Three people are fighting for their life after serious collision on M606.
West Yorkshire Police say the van is driving wrong way on motorway was activated in a head-on collision with taxi around 22:45 on Monday night.
Two more people were seriously injured in in crash.
The police say the van failed stop for police squad with marked roads and then drove wrong way on southbound M606 from the Chain Bar roundabout towards Bradford where it competed in in collision.
Representative force said: “Five injured in total from both vehicles, including three who were badly injured. M606 is currently closed in in both directions while emergency services respond to the incident.

“It is expected that the scene of the accident and the road closure will in place for significant period, with National Highways warning that the road is unlikely to open before lunch. Drivers are recommended avoid in area and look for alternative ways.
West Yorkshire Police added that the police observer, independent management for Police behavior, was informed of incident after police vehicle was involved in circumstances leading to collision.
An air An ambulance arrived at the scene shortly before midnight. warning that the road is likely to be closed until at least lunchtime.
Drivers advised to look for alternative routes as emergency services agreed with Incident. National Highways tweeted: “#M606 in #WestYorkshire CLOSED in both directions between J1 (#M62) and J3 (near #Bradford) due to severe collision. @WestYorksPolice are in attendance, with our traffic officers are on their way to help.
