Human left paralyzed by a bomb at the Manchester Arena, conquered the summit of Africa highest mountain in his wheelchair.

Martin Hibbert, 45, started singing and dancing when he reached his peak. of Mount Kilimanjaro with his support team of assistants and local guides.

Hibbert and his daughter Eva, then 14 years old, was within 5 meters of suicide bomber Salman Abedi when he blew up his device Five years ago last month.

Hibbert’s spinal cord was torn apart by shrapnel. in bombing, which left 22 dead and hundreds of wounded.

Hibbert launched mission climb Mount Kilimanjaro when he wanted to “move the mountains” for disabled people. He has already raised around half of £1 million target of donations for Association of spinal injuries.

Speaking after reaching the summit at 5895 meters, he said: “I could just cm. sign upstairs. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry … It was such a relief to get there and know that we did it. Something that I will always remember. I’m just so proud.

“I said we’ll all come back how different people and I will definitely do just love and all. I’m definitely a different person home and I think everyone else will be the same.”

At the top, Hibbert laid out some of his mother’s ashes while playing her favorite song, “All We Know” from Carpenters. She died in november last year and Martin said “I said she would with to me. I love you mom.”

In January former football the agent told the Guardian that he wanted inspire a “revolution” in how UK thinks about people with disability.

He said he was overwhelmed by the daily obstacles that people in wheelchairs must overcome in public premises such as restaurants, hotels and shops.

Speaking after climbing Kilimanjaro, he added: “You know it doesn’t stop here. We have climbed mountain, but now we need to move mountains to get what we are need in terms of social care change, changes in availability, things like that’s why I’m going need all these people keep giving me that love and support.

“That’s why I do it to show don’t write off someone because they in wheelchair, see what they can do when they have the right help as well as support. They can climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
