Gregor Gray, who so far served 17 years of sentence for robbery, escaped from HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire in mid May.

Speaking to the hosts of the podcast, Gray said: “There is a man talking to you right now. on in run.
“I’m not hiding from anyone, my name is Gregor Grey,” he said.
He added that he escaped from prison because of “injustice and heartache” he experience while in custody, adding that he cried until he fell asleep every night until in prison.
Gray’s original sentence was reported to have been four years, but he remained in prison because of being in prison for Public Protection Judgment (IPP).
The IPP sentence, which is described as “an indefinite sentence reserved for serious offenders,” means that offenders must serve a minimum term before they can apply for release from parole board. Nonetheless board will approve the offender’s release only if they believe the offender is “sufficiently safe”.
While the IPP sentence was running in 2005 policy was decommissioned in 2012, after being named the “biggest spot”. on in criminal justice system on former Supreme Court justice. decision not applied retroactively, so those already the IPP verdict continued to be so.
