NEC supports closure of markets across the country at 20:30

In an attempt to save energy, the National Economic Council (NEC) decided to close of markets across the country at 20:30.

NECK took in decision Wednesday during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Chief Ministers of the meeting was attended by all provinces and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was represented by its head secretary Dr. Shehzad Khan.

Minister of Energy Khurrum Dastagir, speaking at a press conference, said that the early closure of of markets and work-from-home measures can save energy.

He also said that the industrial sector was provided with power uninterrupted and that 1100 MW will be added to national network after the launch of the K-2 nuclear power plant.
