When did the National Rifle Association become such a bunch of of wimps?
During their convention in Texas just days after the horrific massacre at a nearby elementary school, defenders called for arming teachers and increasing police presence in classes. But as they say, go big or go home.
Response to mass shootings in our schools to the end right there in front of usbut no one wants to say it. So I will.
It’s time to arm the children themselves. If the answer to gun violence is more guns, this is really the most logical solution.
Now we have to be sensible about this. We obviously don’t want kindergartners run around and accidentally shoot each other with their tiny fingers, so we would have to set a rational age requirement. Let’s say 10 years old. I mean, this is the age when children should to be familiar with guns anyway if they’re gonna grow up in USA.
Children could report to their class in in the morning, read their oath of Loyalty and then give them away gun for day. Shortly before final bell they would turn their weapons back in to his teacher to be securely locked up until the next morning. In the end, these are not toys – they should be exclusively for defense goals.
I originally thought Uzi machines for each student made makes the most sense due to their sheer firepower against any potential attacker, but thought it might be TOO much firepower for deal with the younger ones. Then I thought that they should at least have an AR-15 semi-automatic rifles as they appear to be weapons of choice for a little of in more the infamous mass shootings we endured.
But the AR-15, bulky as it is, wouldn’t be all that practical. for junior schoolchildren who are also carrying school books, backpacks and like. So more the logical choice would be a simple pistol, like maybe a Glock 9mm that would be more compact and far easier for students to carry with them between classes. What will they lose in individual container will more what makes up for the availability of and 9 mm. In other words, imagine that some would-be shooter breaks into the classroom only to faced almost instantly on barrels of at least 15-20 pistols.
Naturally. in children you should practice in in use of their weapons. Target practice on school shooting range may be included in their regular Physical education lessons. In fact, we may have to just review the entire physical education program. Dodgeball and badminton should replace significantly more active active shooting exercises and hand-to-hand combat combat preparation.
I know more cautious types will complain about arming students – or even just teachers for it matters – can create an opportunity for additional losses from crossfire, but that’s where these exercises in. Just think – we could wind up with whole nation of little mini Rambos.
As for children aged of ten who it would be too young bear arms in school – because that would be just stupid – we would probably have to build watchtowers and high barbed wire fences, like they had this in concentration camps of World War II. Smaller schools may not have the resources to fund extra security, but in In such situations, we could hire senior students for the towers. And then maybe we can bring back Uzi.
Think about it – high school students could volunteer to protect younger students as part of of their training or community service. They may even earn loans through sorting of work study program if they want to work as prison guards or in similar areas after graduation.
I know all this sound like bold steps but it’s time for bold action. To be honest, I’m surprised I didn’t hear anyone still offer such a brilliant plan yet.
Even Texas Senator Ted Cruz, one of powerful intellect of our age, went so far as to recommend closing more doors and add more school guards. NRA pushes for weapons for teachers for at least a decade, not students who usually aimed in these attacks.
Pretty weak approaches if you ask me. How will children learn to take care of themselves if we continue to babysit them?
And maybe arm the populace should to be extended also to other institutions. Once in days of once we had a section for smokers and non-smokers in restaurants and other places, perhaps we will have sections “carry” and “non-carry” in in future. There was a time when I could not imagine that armed parishioners would become commonplace. in places of worship, but since churches have been targeted in much the same way as public schools in in recent years it has been an inevitable decision.
To be honest, what could be today more star-shiny american than sight of young people going to Sunday school with Bible in one arm and 9mm in another?
