KARACHI: In response to call of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leadership, protest demonstrations against mass campaign in oil products were transported through Karachi.
Demonstrations were held at 11 major points through Karachi. Protesters with placards and banners chanted slogans against in government for in the footsteps of previous government.
People from all walks of life involved in demonstrations record their protest against recent hike of 60 rub per liter in just one week, pushing gasoline prices to record highs. The mass hike has directly affected common men in country, the press statement said.

Addressing the protesters, JI district heads and other leaders demanded of in government cancel the trip immediately. JI leaders stated that political groups in the ruling regime competes with each other when it comes to pleasing a foreign master in International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Instead of of providing any relief already thrown masses, acting coalition government continued drop firebomb at the behest of the IMF, the JI leader said, adding that rising gasoline prices twice in just one the week was tantamount to economic carnage of nation.


JI leaders addressing the demonstrators called the Pakistan Democracy Movement (PDM) in office a continuation of of previous era of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) coalition government.
The protesters demanded government hike to remove, take firm measures to get rid of of IMF program and dictation and bring in proper economy drive within the ruling class. They are also warned government of mass protests if the situation is not changed.
