Meeting of in special Committee of Cabinet considered filing charges of sedition against former Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Prime Minister and Chairman Imran Khan and Chief Ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit Baltistan (UK).
The commission was chaired of Interior Minister Rana Sanaulla at MIA on Thursday when the delegation considered filing sedition cases under Section 124-A. of in criminal procedure code (CrPC).
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Maulana Asad Mahmoud, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Kashmir Affairs Qamar Zaman Kaira, Minister for Economy Minister Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for Law and justice Azam Nazir Tarar and others concerned officials.
Interior secretary Yusuf Nasim Khokhar and Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Police Nasir Akbar were also present according to the press release.

Sanaulla briefed the committee on the long PTI march. on May 25th and partyproposed plan attack federation.
Committee also reviewed the available evidence regarding the march participants, in particular PTI leader Imran and provincial leaders of KP and GB, to attack federation.
Interior secretary and IS Islamabad briefed committee members on the law and order situation during the long march to Islamabad.
Interior minister also urged the committee forward recommendation to the Cabinet of Ministers to register the sedition case against former prime minister Imran in light of proof.
He called the long way PTI fitna and said it was more of a protest march than “March of Khakaki Azadi”. Sanaulla added that the protest was armed attack in the federation in addition to rebellion.
“Formal planning was made hold the capital hostage on May 25,” he said. added.

“According to the plan, about 2,500 criminals were already were delivered to Islamabad by 25 May. These villains tried capture D-Chowk in front of Imran arrival,” he claimed.

Sanaullah accused the “armed group” of not only attacking police, rangers and FC personnel but installation fire to the trees and the metro station. He also said that former Prime Minister violated on May 25 decision of Supreme Court.

The committee subsequently adjourned the meeting until Monday (June 6). for further consultations to make final recommendations to the federal government.
