Pakistan wants to increase trade connections with Turkey: PM

ANKARA:

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said Pakistan “sincerely and wholeheartedly” wants work with Turkish business brotherhood for the development of bilateral ties and emphasized need use the huge potential between the two countries.

He also praised Turkish investments in solar park projects in Pakistan.

“Your active participation in investments in Pakistan is highly regarded. And above all your participation in humanitarian projects in Pakistan is very well known,” he said.

He stated that Pakistan wanted take advantage of Turkish opportunities in various sectors, since he had huge experience in building of dams, production of cheaper electricity and production vehicles.

“I’m here today with my great team to convey this message to you in no certain terms absolutely loud and clear that we welcome you with both weapons to come and invest in Pakistan, promotion trade,” he said.

Prime Minister Shahbaz also called on the Turkish trade minister to sign letter of intention in efforts to achieve bilateral trade of $5 billion in The next two years, according to the prime minister, are “difficult, but not impossible.”

Turkish Prime Minister, Foreign Minister discuss bilateral relations

A high-level Turkish delegation led by Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Ankara.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other members of Pakistani delegation attended for meeting.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkey.

Meeting also discussed promotion of cooperation in various fields, especially trade investment, education, communication and culture.
