Severe storms swept through the state on Monday afternoon, bringing tornadoes, hail and strong winds across the state.
21:00 – search and rescue operations are underway. in city of Forada, according to Julie Anderson, director of Douglas County Emergency Management. She is says alleged tornado damaged up to 100 buildings in in area. So far, no deaths or serious injuries have been reported. Number of homes are severely injured or complete loss, but not sure how a lot, Anderson told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS.
Meanwhile the authorities in Todd County advises people stay out of town of Eagle Bend like crews clear roads and assess the damage in in area.
18:24 – tornado warning is in effect for parts of Counties Carver, Wright and McLeod like a storm system approaches the Twin Cities subway. Warning set expires at 18:45
Separate tornado warning was released for downtown Wright until 7:00 pm, including Delano, Buffalo, Monticello, and Albertville.

18:00 – Tornado. warning was issued for Cass County in north- central Minnesota and remains in effect before 6:15 p.m. “This is a particularly dangerous situation,” the National Weather Service warned.
5:20 pm – Tornado warning issued. for eastern Todd and northwestern Morrison counties, and southeastern Wadena counties by 6:00 pm.

16:50 – Number of a tornado warning was issued in west-central and southwestern Minnesota for:
- Douglas and Todd counties until 5:30 pm.
- Parts of Pope, Chippewa, Sterns, Swift, and Kandiyohi counties until 5:30 pm.
- Jackson and Cottonwood counties until 5:15 pm.
4:37 pm – Southwest Otter Tail County is under tornado. warning before 17:15 Henning, Ottertail, Deer Creek, Clitherall, Vining, Urbank and Almora are within the affected area area.
KSTP meteorologist Matt Servais reports confirmed tornado touched down down near Alexandria.
16:25 – Tornado. warning was issued for Douglas and central Pope counties until 5:00 pm and will be adjacent to Glenwood, Lowry, Alexandria and Carlos.
16:07 – A new tornado warning is in effect until 16:30 for Grant County in west-central Minnesota, including Lake Elbow, Hoffman, Ashby, Herman, Barrett, Wendell, and Norcross.

Another tornado warning was released for parts of Douglas and Pope counties and remains in effect until 16:45 area includes Alexandria, Glenwood, Starbuck and Kensington.

Meteorologist Matt Servais said damaging winds are likely to become main impact like a storm move east late in afternoon.
Servais said eastern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro, still has chance of isolated tornadoes and large hail from approximately 18:00 to 21:00

INITIAL REPORT: The weather will be hot, humid and windy. for in first part of Day of Remembrance, with severe storms expected across the state in the afternoon and evening hours.
In the Twin Cities metro area, meteorologist Matt Serve said the storms with strong winds, hail and rain expected possible at 10 am.
Memorial Day participants should prepare for strong winds, small hail, occasional heavy rain.
The winds may pick up up to 40 mph out of south after morning round of storms, shocks in more heat and humidity to send high temperatures into the upper 80s.
Serve says heavy thunderstorms expected in western Minnesota around 3-4 p.m., with numerous tornadoes possible a little of which can be violent and include tornadoes with long trails.
The National Weather Service (NWS) has stepped up its stern risk warning for Monday by Minnesota, adding that there is potential for tornado outbreak in the western part of state day and night. Tornado strength can be at least EF2.
