“Even friendly countries ask us consult with the IMF first’: Miftah Ismail

Finance Minister Miftah Ismail said the donor countries began to give very carefully us loans and demand us consult with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) first Bloomberg reports.

According to international news The finance minister told Bloomberg that countries like Saudi Arabia and Dubai, who used to supply Pakistan financial to help in needs became very careful in lending us money. Even so friendly countries demand us go to the IMF first added.

According to Bloomberg, Pakistan government trying to reach agreement with IMF in June, latest to travel on foot in oil and electricity prices also was to convince the IMF to provide economic assistance program.

Minister for Finance Miftah Ismail on Saturday announced that 8.9 billion dollars in pipeline for country after approval of $1 billion tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

He argued that the staff level agreement would be completed. with IMF in June. World Bank and Asian Development Bank also secure Pakistan with economic aid packages after the deal with the IMF, he added.

The Minister of Finance had also clarified that they did not discuss anything related to privatization in recent negotiations with IMF in Qatar.
