PTI members arrested under MPO under Section 144

During raids in various parts of Karachi in early hours of Law enforcement detained leaders and activists on Tuesday of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) under maintenance of Public order (PLO).

Officials and police sources said the message from government was delivered to law enforcement via Karachi the previous evening, according to which they were ordered arrest PTI Leaders and Activists in in city under MPO.

As soon as soon as the orders were received, police officers from all over in city got to the houses of PTI leaders and activists. BUT series of Karachi police raids continued until dawn. Police arrested several PTI leaders and activists while they were tracking the whereabouts. of others, most of who apparently fled to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and some are reported to have in various parts of Punjab.

Officials said PTI leaders and activists from all over over Sind planned to get to Islamabad, trying truck or any other transport to the federal capital for a protest action, but all of they had to be stopped.

According to them, law enforcement officers continue to carry out raids in various parts of Karachi in arrest PTI leaders and activists. Saifullah Mehsud of the MNA was arrested in Keamari, while Attaullah of the MNA was arrested in the SITE area. As soon when police raids were reported, all PTI leaders and workers went underground.

Article 144 introduced

The Sindh Home Ministry has enforced Section 144 across the province and issued a notice. in in this respect. decision was taken from current law and order situation in provinces.

Sindh police chief wrote home shed compartment light on current law and order situation in provinces due to recent terrorist attacks that intended to endanger life and property of ordinary citizens.

The chief of police indicated out that some disgruntled political and other elements were planning to hold an illegal assembly with the intention to block roads and highways, to organize sit-ins in order to disrupt peaceful pace of life of ordinary citizens.

He also indicated out what it will provide more anti-social and anti-state elements trying to capitalize on the prevailing politico-economic situation.

Taking into account available reports that various organizations intend to out illegal meetings, demonstrations and sit-ins throughout the province, he expressed his fear that disaffected elements might violate law and order during these meetings.

Subsequent notice issued home department reads that in link to recommendations of Police Chief, Sindh government considers it appropriate to take measures to avoid any adverse incident in connection with expected illegal gatherings and in order to avoid any chance of exploitation of unwanted elements.

By exercising the powers granted by the Code of Criminal Procedure (CPC), government imposed a ban on collection of five or more peopleand staging of demonstrations and rallies throughout the province for Period of 30 days with instant effect.

In pursuance of Section 195(s)(a) of KRPK, government authorized SHO of police stations concerned to register complaints in accordance with article 188 of Pakistan Penal Code in writing for violation of Section 144 of KrPK.
