“China-Pakistan Friendship Founded on solidarity, trust, mutual assistance support’

BEIJING:

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday said China-Pakistan relations are “based on on solidarity, trust, mutual respect and mutual support” in press conference with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi during of his visit to China.

The two nations enjoyed a “unique, unrivaled and time-tested brotherhood,” added Bilawal, warmly inviting the member of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Yi to visit Islamabad.

Foreign Minister Bilawal reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to providing safety Chinese citizens in country and once again condemned attack on Chinese teachers at the University of Karachi on 29 April.

He also stressed the common commitment of Pakistan and China to stability and facilitating of poverty in in region.

He arrived in Guangzhou, China Late Saturday Night on his first bilateral visit by invitation of Yi. The two day trip will also in first in-a person of high level of interaction between two countries since inception of Pakistan new government in April.

Foreign minister conduct extensive consultations with their Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, during which they are expected to review the whole gamut of bilateral relationship, with Special attention on stronger trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and China.

Bilaval made in announcement of his arrival on Twitter adding that on Sunday also noted 71st. Anniversary of institution of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.

Fast tracked progress on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Flagship project of President Xi Jinping’s “One Belt, One Road” initiative will also feature in discussion.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said in a statement that both sides also have a wide exchange of views on major regional and international questions.

“It’s all-weather strategic cooperation partners for China and Pakistan to improve communication and coordination on key issues to address with changes in in region and risks and challenges,” is he added.

representative also said that China hopes use this visit as an opportunity to on with in traditional friendship with Pakistan, strengthen strategic mutual trust and further deepenweather comprehensive strategic partnership for build rapprochement between China and Pakistan community with general future.

Statement comes just days after Chinese Premier Li Keqiang assured his Pakistani counterpart Shahbaz Sharif of his country’s readiness to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation, expand trade and encourage increased investment from China to Pakistan, over telephone conversation on 16th of May.

In a statement on May 10 Bilaval also stated that he sought to further strengthen “all-weather Strategic partnership” with China, including through “rapid implementation” of KPEC. The statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs states

“Pakistan will continue its efforts to expand cooperation with China through the CPEC, to promote its national implementation of SDGs, in in addition to active participation in in work of GDI Group of friends to promote common pursuit of peaceful, prosperous and common future for all mankind.”
