ISLAMABAD:
Former human rights minister Shirin Mazari was beaten up and arrested from her home on Saturday. Reports of her detention were confirmed by her daughter Iman Mazari and Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Chaudhry Fawad Hussain.
Minister for information and broadcasting during the PTI regime, Fawad revealed news on his official Twitter account.

Mazar daughter also tweeted about her mother arrest. “Men policemen beat me up and took away my mother far. All I was told was that Lahore’s anti-corruption wing took her.

Videos shared soon after news broken out showed how the PTI leaders made their way to the police station, where former minister apparently kept.
In a separate video Mazari daughter, also lawyer told her mother was “kidnapped”
“I do not know nothing, everything is me know a woman was kidnapped today in bandit-like manner.” A visibly distraught Mazari added whatever happened family informed of nothing anyone more.
She is also “warned” the incumbent president government of consequences if this method in tactics’ will be used.
Speaking to media after her initial statement, Iman said she was detained in an “unconstitutional” manner. mother cannot be called arrest. She is added what she doesn’t have information regarding her mother’s whereabouts, and she “forcibly disappeared”.

“Brutal Kidnapping”
Mazar arrest was widely condemned by other PTI leaders on social media. Former federal minister for education also tweeted against incident, calling arrest “brutal kidnapping”

“She was abused and abused, which is shameful,” minister addedthere will be a protest in Lahore against PTI leader arrest.
Former-prime minister Imran Khan’s boss of Staff Shahbaz Gill also tweeted about the incident, asking all PTI staff to reach the Kohsar police station where Mazari was reportedly detained.

In another tweet, PTI leader Farrukh Habib called Mazar “a strong voice’, who expresses his opinion forward without ‘anyone’fear’. He added what is this government became afraid.” Khabib went on to say that “such tactics won’t hold us”.

PTI also named former ministers arrest as “illegal kidnapping”, calling on in current government release her immediately.
Former climate change minister Zartaj Gul Wazir also condemned her arrest. She said, “It’s a pity tactics used by the state machine for fight public rage. They arrested Dr. Shirin Mazari, a former federal minister. for Human rights!”

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar also tweeted about PTI leader arrest. Khokhar said, arrest was “unfortunate” and “the worst form of of political oppression.”
