Pakistan badly needs a steering wheel – Pakistan

With the economic crisis around corner and dollar over roof, panic all around. If successful, talks between Finance Minister Miftah Ismail and the IMF in Doha can move forward of counting for a few months. But then what? How long until house of cards crumbling down? decades of overspending and underproduction cannot be eliminated in day.

Each subsequent government used to blame his predecessor for all that’s gone wrong. Whichever party wins next elections – if and when they take place – will certainly continue this childish farce. By shifting responsibility in this way, Pakistan seeks avoid admitting that this is a sick person of South Asia. This refusal means that he will resist finding the right drugs. Today Pakistan is lagging behind behind Bangladesh and India in each indicator of Consequence: economy, political stability and human development.

There are three powerful causes for our current predicament.

First, militarism. Pakistan has been at war since 1947 economy. This allowed him fight four wars, one of which was forced upon him, but the other three were of choice. Luxury of choosing to go to war in 1965 and then again in 1999, was made possible generous military and economic aid from the United States. But now that the ex-patron of Pakistan has become mean, and our current The patron above the Himalayas looks unenthusiastic, eternal war with India over Kashmir is not available.

That the occupation of India puts the Kashmiris at the mercy of of The Indian security forces are tragic. It was like this now for decades. But India’s transgressions became an excuse for creating a paramilitary Pakistani security state that, for selfish institutional reasons sought to preserve Kashmir on boiling. Little good as a result, but of harm was caused everywhere, including in Pakistan itself.

To avoid shipwreck, Pakistan will have to fight effectively with militarism, overpopulation and its skill deficit.

Pakistan injures itself while harboring militants who ended up turning their weapons on their benefactor. However, there is a glimmer of hope. 31-year The sentence handed down on Lashkar-e-Taiba Supreme Leader Hafiz Saeed is clear recognition that the old policy will not work. High up inside military it was clear that cross-border jihad had to be postponed. Fear of FATF has contributed in No small way.

More need to be cancelled. Does it make sense to make sick economy worse if closed down the country for one full day on fifth of every February? Or have everything government employees and students stand outside their buildings every Friday at noon and observe a five-minute silence (this failed after first try)? Or rename the Kashmir Highway to Srinagar Highway. in vain hope that this will touch the triumphant Pakistanis to the very heart of Kashmir?

Recipe: Pakistan should let the Kashmiris sort it out out them problems with India, remaining strictly within the formal framework of what we promised to do is to provide the Kashmiris with political and diplomatic support, and no more. If regional peace follows, then one hope for civil superiority in Pakistan, moderation of defense spending and, ultimately, to some extent of self-sufficiency. Instead of of more back-break Chinese loans, way ahead lies a mutually beneficial Pakistani-Indian trade. If China and India are geopolitical rivals that could trade en masse with each other, why can’t Pakistan and India do the same?

Secondly, uncontrolled Pakistan. population growth. Our cities are bursting at the seams, spreading far into the countryside and swallowing up agricultural land. pakistan gift rate of population magnification is enough to create one more Israel every two years. In another 25 years there will be 400 million Pakistani NIC holders.

In his new order charter of Economics, economist Hafiz Pasha has considered some of the implications. Water availability decreased by 49 percent between 1990–1991 and 2020–2021; unemployment rose from 1.7% in 1961 to 3.1 units in 1981 to 5.8 units in 2018; availability of farmland decreased from 6.1 acres in 1947 to 0.49 acres per capita. of rustic population; quality of a life in Karachi is ranked 201st. out of 231 cities in in world; etc.

However, assuming that more this is better, like old Catholics, many Muslim conservatives continue to oppose contraception. Every newborn, they say, comes with guaranteed rizq (provision) with seal on his forehead. Suppose it’s right and the food was supposed to drop miraculously from heaven for Every Pakistani is a man, woman and child. So what?

Law of exponential growth says that Pakistan will run out of physical space in several decades, and watering long before that. As for in amount of human waste generated and where it will go – one not want even think about it. And yet, leaving aside this terrible future scene, Pakistan abolished the ministry for population planned many years ago.

Third, the lowest quality of Pakistan education system. As every employer will tell you, local diplomas and certifications are worthless. The preparation of highly qualified specialists requires a lot. more than to put up building for universities, colleges and schools. Critical thinking skills make graduates useful and employable. These skills completely absent in Matrix, FA/FSc system and only partially developed in elite elite level O/A private schools. Accent on rote learning and religious indoctrination have crippled minds and reduced thinking ability.

The proof is looking us in in face. Pakistan has the world’s tenth largest overseas labor force that earns the most of your foreign currency. But only 1 piece. of migrant workers are highly qualified (engineer, doctor, accountant, computer analyst, pharmacist) and 2 highly qualified (nurse, educator, manager). The remaining 97% fall into various categories, from skilled (welders, painters, carpenters, etc.) to low-skilled (agricultural workers and general laborers). Pakistanis are completely absent from world scene of high science and mechanical engineering.

Forecast: dangerous times lie ahead. This is bad enough to make the ship drift in bad weather near the rocky shore. More ominously, his bickering crew members trading strikes rather than worry about a shipwreck. But much more problem is without a steering wheel. Pakistan ultimate goals need fundamental redefinition. Until we realize the urgency need to combat three deadly monsters militarism, overpopulation and skill deficit – any optimism for the longer term is unjustified.
