LAHORE: As instructed of Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz, MPA Khawaja Salman Rafiq and Khawaja Imran Nazir demonstrated their resolve to deal with with diarrhea and cholera on on an emergency basis when presiding over a meeting in Department of Primary and Secondary Care.
In a meeting attended by Dr Jamshaid of WHO and Additional Secretary Dr Asim Altaf and other officials, Khawaja Salman Rafik and Khawaja Imran Nazir reviewed all steps taken to deal with diarrhea and cholera in detail. Khawaja Salman Rafiq said: “We in negotiation with WHO increase capacity of laboratories in perform tests of cholera. The Department of Primary and Secondary Care and Specialized Health and Medical Education will design single panel for private hospitals and laboratories. We are talking steps to ensure that teaching hospitals of Punjab may have test center for diarrhea and cholera soon as possible. We take everything we need steps provide better healthcare for general public.”
Talking about the importance of data collection Khawaja Imran Nazir said: “We are using all the resources we can to ensure collection of information of Patients of diarrhea and cholera. Wasa, Punjab Food Authority and other departments are coordinating work together to deal with diarrhea and cholera. I call people take all preventive measures to avoid diarrhea and cholera.
