President Arif Alvi on Saturday said “hostile countries” we behind suicide attack It targeted Chinese faculty at the University of Karachi in what he said was an attempt to sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and damage the friendship between the two countries.
Three Chinese teachers and their Pakistani driver were killed in in the attack, four more were injured in the suicide bombing that hit them vehicle as you approach the Confucius Institute in university.
During a visit to the Chinese Embassy today, the President condemned the incident and promised “hostile countries” behind it “couldn’t in their projects”, like Pakistan and China enjoy deep friendship and firmly committed to further strengthening the “all-weather friendship,” reads a message released by the Presidential Secretariat.
According to Chinese cultural adviser Zhang Heqing, the president expressed his condolences to the embassy staff.
He asked Chargé d’Affaires Pang Chongxue to convey his sincere condolences to the Chinese. peopleCommunist Party of China and President Xi Jinping.
Alvi said the whole nation was in “deep pain and shock over accident” and shared in grief of Chinese people.
He assured them that Pakistan would “leave no stone unturned” for ensure in safety of Chinese citizens and bring the elements involved in incident with justice.
Pang thanked President Alvi for his visit and expression of solidarity with Chinese people and government.
She said that both countries have a common future”and a long history of friendship and close cooperation. She condemned attack and hoped that “the culprit behind this incident will be delayed and punished”, the message says.
President Alvi later wrote remarks in embassy visitor’s book.
Embassy of China also released a message thanking Pakistani officials for in series of visits for condemnation attack and offer your support after losing of Chinese citizens. “Together we will defeat terrorism and work for general future”, it says.
