ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Friday predicted a dusty thunderstorm and rain during the Eid holidays. in several cities including Karachi.

The PMD statement says that the western wave is likely to enter the western part. of country from May 1 (Sunday) and will probably continue until May 5 (Thursday).

Under influence of This weather systemPMD reported rain, wind/thunderstorm expected in Chagi, Noshki, Quetta, Chaman, Pishin, Kila Abdullah, Loralai, Mastung, Zhob, Ziarat, Kalat, Sibby, Nasirabad, Barkhan, Larkana, Jakobabad, Sukkur, Rajanpur, Dera Gazi Khan, Laya, Bhakkar, Multan, Khaneval, Sahiwal , Okara, Pakpattan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Rahimyar Khan from 1 to 3 May.

This is added it’s a dust storm also expected in Karachi, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, Thatta and Badin May 1-2 during a dusty thunderstorm/ light rain expected in Dee Khan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Waziristan, Murri, Galliyat, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Sing, Jang, Sheikhupura, Lahore, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal and Gujrat from 2 to 4 May.

PMD said rain-wind/thunderstorm also expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Peshawar, Kohat, Kurum, Gilgit-Baltistan (Diamir, Gilgit, Gizer, Astore and Skardu), Kashmir (Muzaffarabad ) , Neelum Valley, Ravalakot, Bagh, Haveli, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur, Srinagar, Baramulla, Shupiyan, Anantnag and Leh) from 1 to 5 May.

weather Department warned of damage to vulnerable structures due to hurricanes, with daytime temperatures likely to drop by 04-06°C during the forecast period. It was further said that the rain might cause landslide in vulnerable areas of Gilgit-Baltistan from 2 to 5 May.

PMD also advised to everyone concerned authorities remain “warning” during the forecast period.
