Islamabad: Senator Mushahid Hussain on Friday led the delegation of Senate Defense Committee of the Chinese Embassy for expression of sorrowsolidarity and support after terror strike against Chinese teachers in Karachi.
The delegation was received by Acting Ambassador, Charge d’Affaires of China Pang Chunxue and her senior colleagues- the press service said in a statement.
Senator Mushahid Hussein announced that the delegation is visiting the embassy with heavy heart since it was the third act of terror against Chinese in Pakistan during year. And the fact that Chinese teachers were targeted was pretty embarrassing.
He said that all political parties in Parliament shared these sentiments as China is Pakistan’s main partner and strongest friend, a friendship that is widely support from people of Pakistan.
Senator Mushahid Hussein deplored that “our security system has failed both to protect the Chinese worker in Pakistan or to prevent recurrence of such actions of terror’.
He said: “Comprehensive review and rethink of so faulty system necessary” if “we went to CPEC to move forward successfully’. He said, “Such a violation of security is unacceptable’ for the country like Pakistan, whose armed forces successfully overcame internal war against terrorism.
He said: “We are completely share in your sorrow, we are completely share in your indignation, and we are completely share your concerns about this serious breach of security” which, if allowed to reoccur, could result in drying up of foreign investment.
The delegation included Senators Mushtaq Ahmed, Faisal Javed, Anwarul Haq Kakar and Dr. Zarqa Suhrwardi.
Secretary of DefCom, Major (right) Hasnain Haider was also present time. Acting Ambassador of China warmly thanked the senators for their gesture.
