A number of politicians condemned attack on Acting Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari during the meeting session on Saturday.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took to his official Handle Twitter to say that attack on Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly by PTI and PML-Q legislators to be condemned in strongest terms possible. He called it “outrageous display of violence and hooliganism.” prime minister accused former prime minister Imran Khan of inciting violence and attacking democracy out of personal “despair”.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari believes the chaos was attack on courts,”who he ruled [Sardar Dost Mazari] hold elections today. The leader of the PPP stated that the scenes in The Punjab Assembly was attack on “Our democracy, attack on our constitution, attack on our federation and attack on in people of Southern Punjab.
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz also strongly condemned the act, stating that “it first duty of every Pakistani to eradicate this hooliganism and rage on the part of PTI.” The leader said that “such a culture” is dangerous for country and must be eradicated. “People of Punjab, know their faces!” she declared.
PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry stated that event in The Punjab Assembly demonstrated that the country is “inches from full unfolding civil unrest.
PTI leader Azhar Mashvani also tweeted about the incident. “After elected on PTI ticket and enjoy the position for three and half years, now sold to PML-N.”
He wrote: “This people should have shoes thrown on them, not on necklaces.”
Muniz Elahi of PML-Q also shared video of a ‘concerned”PML-N MPA.
Rana Mashhood of PML-N was accused of incitement to violence against Elahi.
