Inspector Gemma Alger said: “This horrific incident took place in residential street in in broad daylight, and incredibly lucky not to one was seriously injured or worse.

“There were members of in public who gathered about their business as usual when they were caught in in the middle of shot from a firearm and was afraid for their lives as they dived for lid.

“The police and the public must work together to apprehend violent criminals and that prime example of that.

“Any information, no matter how may seem insignificant prove vital.”

DCS Caroline Haynes, head of policeman for Enfield and Harings, said: “We know of shocking footage that is circulating on social media. I can assure the locals that we are doing everything to help our colleagues in Crime specialist like them work to establish the circumstances and identify all those involved in this incident.

“Although this incident cause serious concern, and rightly so, fortunately gunshots are extremely rare. We are seeing a 73 percent decline. over in past year in areas of the Northern region and the fight against violence remains a top priority for the Met.

“You can expect to see more patrols in in area over coming days and I call on the local people approach the officers on patrol to discuss any information or the fears they have with them.”

Two men were arrested and charged after the shooting. Third man arrested on suspicion of attempt murder was later released on pledge.
