ISLAMABAD: President Putin of Russia expressed the hope that the activities of Shekhbaz will contribute to further development of Pakistani-Russian cooperation.
President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his election as new Prime Minister of Pakistan. According to the Russian Embassy in In Pakistan, Putin expressed hope that Shehbaz’s activities “will contribute to further development of pakistani-russian cooperation and partnership on Afghan settlement, as well as countering international terrorism”.
Before Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Indian Representative Narendra Modi also congratulated Shehbaz on his election. Meanwhile, according to the Prime Minister’s Office, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of China Pang Chunxue provided a courtesy call on Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s house. prime minister’s office, in statement, said she conveyed warm congratulations and good wishes of Chinese government and leadership on assumption of office through prime minister. Chargé d’affaires ad interim emphasized that prime minister was considered a strong and devoted friend of China and enjoyed great respect and admiration in her country. She is also praised prime minister contributed to the promotion of China-Pakistan economic cooperation during the years when he was head minister of Punjab.
Having conveyed our warm greetings and gratitude to the Chinese leadership, prime minister recalled his many visits to China, during which he had the pleasure and honor of meeting with Chairman Xi Jinping, who took a personal interest in development of a relationship with Pakistan. prime minister Appreciates the continuation of CPEC progress like a flagship project of President Xi’s Belt and Road Initiative and its meaning for economic development and prosperity of Pakistan. He confirmed the governments resolve to speed up to high quality development of CPEC projects and make it a symbol of China-Pakistan friendship and close partnership. He stressed the importance of increased investment from China in industrialization, agriculture and digital technologies.
Recalling our close collaboration with China as the main minister Punjab, Mr. prime minister reaffirmed the All-Weather Strategic Partnership between Pakistan and China as the cornerstone of Pakistan policy and factor for regional peace and stability.
He stressed that friendship with China resided in hearts of in people of Pakistan and China have been Pakistan’s strongest friend and closest partner. prime minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the country to further deepen win-win Economic cooperation between the two countries.
