Mr Mackenzie said, “Please, if you have information, just to come forward. My grandparents were especially in pain for like 12 years, just let them rest now.

“Let closure come to our family. Nicole suffered, my uncles, brothers and sisters suffered. It’s time to close the case and get justice and put it to bed now and let it all move on in a life.”

Chief Detective Inspector Dave Wellums said he hoped the £20,000 reward will provide additional clues that may result in arrests of suspect for Mr Mackenzie murder.

“I, on on the other hand, consider that attachments change, attachments change, and it is quite feasible, it is quite possible that someone will have a seizure of conscience will actually come forward and give us this piece of information that points us in different direction and we can bring this matter to a satisfactory conclusion,” he said.

He added that despite the passage of time, “there is always hope”.
