Shehbaz Sharif drops the name of ex-CJP Gulzar Ahmed for prime minister’s caretaker

ISLAMABAD: leader of opposition in outgoing National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday rejected former main justice of Pakistan name Gulzar Ahmed for in post of caretaker prime ministerReported by ARY News.

opposition leader, in a letter to President Arif Alvi stated that the process of appointment of an interim prime minister or government is unconstitutional, since the decision of the NA Speaker on no-confidence motion already challenged in SC and each step of The President or Prime Minister is subject to the ruling of the highest court.

President Arif Alvi wrote to Prime Minister and opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif seeking their candidates. for in post of interim prime minister.

SHEKHBAZ SHARIF DENIES HE HAD A LETTER REGARDING TEMPORARY PM-M

According to the letter, the interim prime minister is appointed by the president. in consultation with current prime minister and leader of opposition in outgoing NA pursuant to section 224(1A) of Constitution of Pakistan.

Shehbaz Sharif previously claimed that he had not received “any letter” from President Dr. Arif Alvi regarding the appointment. of caretaker prime minister.

Turning to media in Islamabad, President of PML-N, said that whenever he received a letter, he first consult with its legal team and opposition parties, and then send names for intermediate prime minister.

It is appropriate to mention here that Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday named former main justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed as Interim Acting prime minister nominee.
