LAHORE: A special court in Lahore sounding money laundering case against Sharif family Monday rejected by FIA plea for cancellation of Bail for Shehbaz Sharif and his release from appearance in about today’s meeting, reports ARY NEWS.
However, the court ordered the opposition leader join indictment against to him on April 11.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif counsel Amjad Parvez on Monday was looking for more time to beg against Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) request for cancellation of the deposit in money laundering case against junior Sharif.
During the hearing in the Lahore court, all the suspects in the case registered their presence while the release was requested for Shahbaz Sharif, whose counsel said he was called in the Supreme Court, and therefore he could not attend the trial.
However, the FIA counsel claimed that the court called counsel of PML-N, not Shehbaz Sharif. To this, Amjad Parvez said that Shehbaz Sharif should file a petition against dissolution of Assembly.
FIA counsel said the suspect should be present to receive temporary bail from the court and therefore hold in view his absencecourt should cancel bail.
Amjad Parvez, however, asked the court give to him more time to argue against cancellation of bail before trial.
On March 26, PML-N President and opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif received a reprieve. in his pledge, despite his failure stand trial in money laundering case via sugar factories.
special Central referee when deciding on bail plea in in money laundering case said in his written order that Shehbaz Sharif applied for an exemption from attending the hearing.
The law requires the defendant to appear in court for temporary bail, he said and added this in case of failure stand trial, bail plea rejected.
However, it stated that since Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad will take part in the National Assembly session as leader of the opposition therefore the court allows him to perform its responsibility as an MNA.
