LAHORE: Slowly but surely, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar is working to dent Jahangir Tareen group – a disgruntled faction within Pakistan Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ruling as another Tareen lawmaker group met with the CM Punjab here on Tuesday.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Tareen group Syed Rafaqat Gillani, MPA met with CM Usman Buzdar and discussed the political situation of Punjab.
The meeting arrives on heels of enlarged cracks in the group of Jahangir Tareen, leader of the separated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). At least six members of The Assembly of Punjab (MPA) has met Punjab Chief Minister Buzdar from the time of Tareen group called for Buzdar’s removal.
Matches between Usman Buzdar and five Tareen MPAs group occurred two days back in Lahore. “Those who made the contact included Taimoor Lali, Bilal Asghar, Iftikhar Gondal, Faisal Hayat Jabbuwana and Aslam Bharwana, “the sources said.
Sources said the MPAs have moved closer to the provincial government after them failed to get insurance of a PML-N ticket in the next elections. A member of the Taren group shared that the meeting with Hamza Shehbaz was a failure as it did not offer PML-N tickets to Tareen group members during the meeting.
