KARACHI: Nisar Khuhro, leader of the Pakistani People’s Party (PPP). on Wednesday won a by-election for a seat in the Sindh Senate that had fallen vacant following disqualification of Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Pakistani leader Faisal Vawda, second unofficial results.
The polls have begun in the Sindh Assembly building and continued until 4:00 pm without any interruption.
Although Agha Arsalan of PTI had submitted papers for the appointment for the by-election, the sentence party and its allies in the federal government I had announced to boycott the lesson.
However, despite the boycott, two AMP PTIs voted for Chehro in the lesson.
Chehro won the seat after bagging 99 votes out of 101.
Shortly after the announcement of by Khuhro winPPP President Bilawal Bhutto Zardari took to his Twitter account to congratulate the party member. “Congratulations, Senator-elect, Nisar Ahmad Khuhro,” she wrote.
Before in February, Electoral Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had disqualified Vawda as a legislator after he was found who had concealed his US nationality while presenting his nomination papers to the returning officer to attend in 2018 general elections.
