Prime Minister Imran regrets the Ukraine-Russia tensions, says conflict no in any interest

MOSCOW: Prime Minister Imran Khan told Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday that there was no conflict in anyone’s interest, and that development countries they always were hit the most difficult economically in Pencil case of conflict.

The Prime Minister reiterated the importance of The Pakistan-Stream pipeline as an economic flagship project between Pakistan and Russia e also cooperation discussed on potential energy-related projects.

The Prime Minister underlined Pakistan’s commitment to forging a long-term multidimensional relationship with Russia.

In the regional context, the Prime Minister underlined the urgency of address the humanitarian crisis and prevent a potential economic meltdown in Afghanistan.

The prime minister reiterated that Pakistan will continue to do so work with the international community for a stable, peaceful and connected Afghanistan.

In this regard, he stressed cooperation and coordination in course between Pakistan and Russia a various international and regional forums, including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

On the situation in South Asia, the premier highlighted the serious human rights situation in IIOJK and stressed the imperative of peaceful resolution of the dispute of Jammu and Kashmir.

The prime minister also highlighted developments detrimental to the pace and regional stability and stressed the need for measures that would help maintain regional balance.

Express concerns on rising trends of extremism and Islamophobia in the world Prime Minister stressed the need for harmony and interreligious coexistence.

Appreciate President Putin’s understanding of respect and sensitivity that Muslims attribute to the Holy Prophet (PBSL), the Prime Minister affirmed that interreligious harmony and respect for all religions were imperative for pace and harmony within and between societies.

The Prime Minister together with senior delegation is on a two-day visit to the Russian Federation from 23 to 24 February 2022. The Prime Minister is accompanied by members of the cabinet and senior officials.
