An 80-year-old senior citizen, who arrived at the Wagah border after his release by an Indian prison on February 17 after eight years in captivity, he gathered with his family on Monday, according to Express Tribune.
Muhammad Nazir, who era with the Edhi Foundation for the past two days, he was arrested by the Indian authorities in 2014.
After news of Nazir’s release was highlighted in His children – Abdul Majeed and Malik Mohammad Rafique – arrived at the Edhi Center in Township to take their father home.
Abdul Majeed told al news vent that his father left home to have breakfast in 2014 but has not returned home. “We looked for for he for months in all areas and cities but I could not locate it. We also filed a missing person report at the Islampura police station but we received no information on him for many years, “he said.
Majeed said it’s all yours family was disappointed after research and assumed their father died. He said police officers recently contacted them, looking for documentation regarding his father and said it was in an Indian jail and the High Commissioner of Pakistan in New Delhi needed the documents for verify.
Nazir is younger son Mohammad Rafique said it is all his family is happy to meet again with his father after eight years.
India recently repatriated 12 Pakistanis, six fishermen and six civilians, to the Pakistani authorities via the border between Attari and Wagah after completing their sentences.
