KARACHI: Sindh government decided to announce head money on Zohaib Ali Qureshi, prime to suspect in the 2019 kidnapping of a young lass, who escaped from police custody in January.
In December 2019, Mangi, then 20, was kidnapped by men in a car from a street in the neighborhood of the Defense Housing Authority of Karachi. She’s back home a week later, but his kidnappers are still fugitives.
Sindh Police Chief Mushtaq Mahar will write a letter to the provincial home department, recommending a reward of Rs5 million for anyone who assists the police in the arrest of Qureshi.
The police decided to announce head money to take help from public after the suspect was in able to escape from police custody due to negligence of court officials.
The defendant was in police custody and was presented before the court in the cases of kidnapping before he escaped from a shopping mall in in the Tariq Road neighborhood, a police spokesman said media.
