Bruno Magalhães won the Mortágua Rally
Ricardo Teodósio (Skoda Fabia Evo) this Saturday became national champion of Rally for the second time with the second place obtained in the Rally of Mortágua, the eighth and final race of the Championship, which was won by Bruno Magalhães (Hyundai i20).
The Algarve pilot, who had already been absolute champion in 2019 and has José Teixeira as navigator , made the best of the loss (due to a puncture) suffered by the leader of the championship at the start of this competition, Armindo Araújo (Skoda Fabia) and regained the title lost in 2020.
Teodósio saw a screw in his Skoda’s gearbox break, which jammed the control in third gear causing the driver to fall to fifth place – which was insufficient to win the title.
Fixed the problem , Teodósio attacked on the second pass through the four sections of the afternoon, ascending to second place in the last special of the day, the ‘power stage’.
Bruno Magalhães, who entered the attack in the morning , won the race with a time of 1h05m48.2s, leaving Teodósio at 27.9 seconds.
Miguel Correia (Skoda Fábia Evo) was third, 34.8 seconds behind the winner, with Pedro Meireles (Volkswagen Polo) to be the fourth, at 42.1 seconds.

Armindo Araújo, who needed to be at least second lost the title for just one point.
“Unfortunately, we suffered a puncture in the first kilometer and, under stronger braking, a few meters later, we went off the road. There was nothing to do and, given the result achieved by Ricardo Teodósio, we were unable to retain the title by one point. This was obviously not the outcome we were looking for and worked on all season, but rallies are just like that. Many congratulations to the winners, everyone who believed in us and my entire team. Next year we will be here again to be able to fight for the victories and for the title”, said Armindo Araújo.
