Ricochet, the new anti-cheat system for the Call of Duty games announced earlier this week, has already been leaked and is being parsed.
According to the Twitter account Anti-Cheat Police Department. It concerns the kernel driver that is part of the anti-cheat system. This driver is already being shared on a forum with cheat software makers.
Fans are amazed at how quickly the anti-cheat system leaked, though some suspect Activision Blizzard may have premeditated the system leaked, to find software weaknesses.
Activision Blizzard this week announced Ricochet, a program featuring “new server tools monitoring data to identify cheaters, improved investigation processes to remove cheaters, updates to make accounts more secure, and more.”
Part of Ricochet is a kernel-level PC driver. This monitors players’ computers and looks for applications that can interact with Call of Duty games. Although this driver will only be available on PC, console gamers will also indirectly reap the benefits, according to the company.
The anti-cheat system on the servers will launch simultaneously with Call of Duty: Vanguard on November 5. The kernel-level driver will also be released for Warzone, but not until later for Vanguard.
