Apple event on September 14th: What else can we expect besides the iPhone 13

A lot is already known about the new iPhone models and there are indications that we cannot expect a major redesign this year, but one solid facelift. Like last year, Apple will again unveil four new devices: two standard models with 5.4 and 6.1-inch displays and two Pro versions with 6.1 and 6.7-inch screen sizes. At least a smaller notch is expected in the display so that more screen space is available.

Furthermore, at least the Pro versions should receive a 120 Hertz refresh rate, as Apple already uses with its iPad Pros – the interaction with the iPhones should feel even smoother. Possibly a new always-on screen mode is moving into the iPhones.

The focus of the new series should include improvements to the camera. According to reports, a video version of portrait mode called Cinematic Video will move in. There is also talk of a new AI-controlled filter system with which different styles can be applied to photos. In addition, there is talk of the option of being able to record video recordings in ProRes for the Pro models.

For more computing power, a faster A15 chip is installed, which should have the same number of cores as the A14 chip .

Despite the initially quite manageable innovations, Apple expects one of the biggest iPhone launches of all time. Rumor has it that the group has ordered over 90 million units for 2021 alone.

The I Phone is rarely presented without its sidekick, the Apple Watch. So we will be expecting the new Series 7 next week. In the course of the iPhone event, Apple could also unveil a new version of its iPad Mini, which is likely to receive a modernization for the first time in years. According to rumors, optically it should be based on the iPad Air 4 (test), with which the Touch ID sensor should move into the power button. Since this saves space in the frame, it should be narrower and the display a little bigger – we are talking about 8.4 inches. The compact dimensions of the tablet should be retained.

Despite the optical adjustment, the Lightning connector remains and USB-C ports are reserved for the upper device classes, they say. In addition to the redesign, Apple will certainly give its small tablet a new processor and perhaps more memory. In addition, an update of the cheapest iPad can be expected.
