Siemens is also waiting for the ideas of Hungarian innovators in its innovation competition

The green transformation of the economy and the enhancement of sustainability are one of the greatest and most important tasks of mankind, in the solution of which joint innovation based on digital technologies will play a key role.

In this spirit, Siemens has announced a global innovation competition with Tech for Sustainability. The initiative, which is based on the best traditions of startup competitions, is made special by its openness and practicality.

Students, researchers and startup companies can enter the competition as well as Siemens customers and supplier partners they can give ideas. One such problem that awaits an innovative technological solution is the prediction and avoidance of the risk of overflow in urban sewerage networks, which reach their capacity limits in the event of a sudden, heavy rainfall due to climate change.

A similar challenge is more accurate and new models to better exploit the potential of smart grids for the transition to carbon-free, sustainable power. But innovators can also enter with solutions that allow smart factories to reduce their carbon footprint or recycle more in their processes.

In the next round of the competition, applicants may test the practical feasibility of the best ideas with the support of mentors. The entries selected here will be further developed by the contestants in collaboration with technology professionals and will be presented live to Siemens executives and industry experts who will decide on the awards on November 19.
