American hypercar with driver Joel Miller at the wheel takes two seconds off the fastest lap record at Laguna Seca and sets it at 1:25.44
The American circuit at Laguna Seca has a new record holder named Czinger 21C. It is the hypersports unit from the Czinger factory, located in Los Angeles, California, owned by the American entrepreneur Kevin Czinger, who is dedicated to the manufacture and assembly of high performance sports cars approved for road driving.
Before going into production, the Czinger 21C has scheduled a series of track tests, like the one that recently took place at the WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway. With driver Joel Miller at the wheel, the Czinger 21C managed to complete a lap in 1:25.44 (time verified with multi-GPS technology), thus beating in two seconds the previous record set by a McLaren Senna (1:27.62).
The test took place under ideal atmospheric conditions, on a clear day, with the wind blowing at a speed of about 15 km/h. The 21C was equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2R tires, suitable for use on the road, and it even broke the track record in two other laps, with times of 1:27.4 and 1:26.6.
“Creating and building a new car is not an easy task and this group built a very fast car”, said Joel Miller, referring to the team that was for behind the development of the Czinger 21C. ” I can only thank them for having invited me to be the driver during the testing and lap recording phase. When we drive the car, it feels like it has a soul of a real sports car. It is possible to feel everything that is happening through the steering wheel. What the engine-mechanics combination is capable of doing is absolutely stunning
The Czinger 21C was fully developed by the American manufacturer, using computational engineering through of artificial intelligence, in order to optimize the weight and performance of each component. The result is a weight-to-power ratio of 1:1.
The 21C has a weight of 1240 kg (driver and passenger both sit in a central position) and 1250 hp of power obtained from a hybrid engine , consisting of a V8 bit 2.88 liters urbo and an 800V electric unit (two motors for each of the front wheels) with system of energy regeneration. The traction is integral and the gearbox is sequential with 7 speeds.

In terms of performance, the new machine from Czinger needs just 8.5 seconds to reaching 300 km/h and announces a maximum speed of 452 km/h. Production will be limited to 80 units.
