French manufacturer returns to expansion into the Asian market
About a year after having abandoned its presence in China, Renault is preparing its return to Chinese territory through a partnership with Geely to manufacture hybrid vehicles with a gasoline combustion engine.
The Reuters agency reports that the two car manufacturers signed a draft agreement for a partnership in Geely will supply technology, supply chains and production units for hybrid vehicles under the Renault brand, with the French manufacturer in charge of sales in Chinese territory.
The agreement already includes the expansion of the partnership to South Korea not excluding that more growing markets in Asia could be added.
After having left the Chinese market in 2020 after finalizing the partnership with Dongfeng, Renault is getting closer again out of that part from the globe now with Geely as a partner, in an association that can also focus on the development of 100% electric vehicles.
